7-Step spiritual detox method to break free of your old identity and step into the superhuman version of yourself

Become Your Ideal Self Newsletter #3

Spirituality is not about perfection; it is about authenticity, growth, and embracing the journey of becoming your highest self.

I have always believed that spirituality is one of the best ways to expand yourself as a person and to truly uncover who you are and how to reach where you want to be.

The mainstream media has made spirituality sound like it’s something very dangerous or illogical.

But that’s not true at all.

In fact, in India, every single person is and has been more spiritually awake than the rest of the world simply because that’s been our way of life since the beginning.

So we have nothing to fear when it comes to embracing and utilizing spirituality for our personal growth and expansion.

I believe we should lean into it even more now that the world is full of distractions and everything seems to be making us more and more disconnected from our lives every day.

In today’s times, it’s not uncommon to see people feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed in their lives.

Maybe you have experienced that, too.

I know I have.

You may struggle with negative thought patterns, emotional baggage, and limiting beliefs that hinder your personal growth and hinder your ability to reach your highest potential.

Becoming a little more connected to our spiritual side can truly transform our everyday lives.

5 Pillars Of Personal Peace and Happiness

Pillar -1: Achieving Spiritual Growth and Self-Realization

In the quest for self-understanding, spiritual growth, and self-realization are the two most essential factors for self-discovery.

Embarking on this journey is a deeply personal endeavor.

As you grow spiritually, you begin to understand your place in the world and how you fit into things.

Self-realization is key to unlocking your full potential.

It is about understanding your capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses, thereby shaping your life in a way that aligns with your inner truth.

Self-realization is empowering, giving you control over your actions, reactions, and overall life trajectory.

It helps you in becoming the architect of your own life, providing you with the tools to design it according to your true essence.

One way to achieve it is through deep introspection.

Delve into the depths of your mind.

Acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses, passions and fears, aspirations and setbacks.

Look at the mirror that reflects your true self, giving you the clarity to steer your spiritual voyage.

Pillar - 2: Cultivating Inner Peace and Harmony

Inner peace is not merely the absence of turmoil and anxiousness within.

More like a harmonious coexistence of all aspects of yourself, achieved when your thoughts, emotions, and actions align.

It is so important that you understand and keep this in mind.

Inner peace is a harmonious coexistence of all aspects of yourself, achieved when your thoughts, emotions, and actions align.

In a world that is increasingly chaotic and stressful, your inner peace serves as a sanctuary, allowing you to remain calm and composed even in the face of adversity.

It provides us the mental clarity required to make wise decisions, unclouded by emotional upheaval.

Moreover, inner peace is also closely linked to happiness and contentment.

It allows us to appreciate life's simple pleasures and fosters a positive outlook.

Pillar - 3: Letting Go of Past Traumas and Negative Emotions

Past traumas and negative emotions are by far the most difficult challenges to overcome.

But it’s also true that no personal peace and happiness can come without letting them go.

Your past experiences, particularly traumatic ones, often shape your thought patterns, behaviors, and emotional responses.

While it's important to acknowledge and learn from these experiences, holding on to the pain and resentment they caused hinders you from moving forward.

Letting go is a form of self-liberation.

It allows you to break free from the shackles of the past, giving you the freedom to shape your present and future.

Moreover, by releasing negative emotions, you make space for positivity, hope, and joy in your life, thereby improving your mental and emotional well-being.

One way to do it is through forgiveness.

Forgiveness is an act of liberation.

Not only for those you forgive but also for yourself.

By releasing the burden of resentment and anger, you allow healing and make room for positive emotions.

Pillar - 4: Expanding Consciousness and Awareness

Expanding consciousness is an act of broadening one's understanding of existence.

Cultivating awareness means becoming attuned to the details of one's life and environment.

Both are key to opening the doors of perception.

It enables you to perceive the world in its vast complexity and wonder, stimulating intellectual growth and fostering empathy.

As you broaden your consciousness, you become more receptive to diverse ideas, perspectives, and experiences, fostering cognitive flexibility and creativity.

An expanded consciousness leads to more holistic thinking, allowing you to perceive the interconnectedness of everything, and fostering a sense of respect and reverence for life.

Embracing your true authentic self is a celebration of individuality and uniqueness.

I believe the first purpose of every human on this earth is to become his/her highest self.

Embracing your true authentic self is the ultimate expression of self-love and acceptance.

It's about honoring your unique identities and expressing them freely, without the fear of judgment or rejection.

Living authentically means living in alignment with our values, beliefs, and desires, rather than conforming to societal norms and expectations.

Authenticity brings a sense of freedom and fulfillment, as you become aligned and true to yourself in your actions, decisions, and interactions.

it is the shortcut to achieving personal peace and happiness.

Now is it all really that simple?

The hardest objections to overcome are the ones that we made up in our heads.

Resistance is your greatest enemy.

Whenever you will decide to do something that’s out of usual but good for you, you will face inner resistance.

There are a few factors that lead to it, such as..

Lack of belief or skepticism

Belief in something is the key that makes the thing work, whatever it is.

You might question the methods.

You might question it will work for you.

You might question the effectiveness or validity of the concepts.

But the truth is…everything works if you work.

Time constraints or perceived complexities

In our fast-paced society, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the idea of having ONE MORE thing to do to make your life better.

But even small, consistent efforts can yield significant results.

Resistance to change or fear of facing inner issues

Change can be intimidating, and you may resist delving into your inner self or confronting past emotional wounds.

But realize that the transformative power of releasing emotional baggage will yield strength and resilience to move forward with the process of becoming your highest self.

But, why?

My answer: why the hell not?

I mean what else is there?

Isn’t life all about reaching our full potential and living a life that is truly meaningful to us?

  • The highest version of yourself is the epitome of self-actualization. The realization and fulfillment of your talents and potential. It's a state where you are not just surviving, but thriving. Utilizing your gifts and powers to their utmost capacity. This is innately satisfying.

  • Striving for the highest version of yourself leads to improving your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. You cultivate healthier habits, develop better-coping strategies, and nurture a more positive and resilient mindset. This not only increases our happiness and contentedness but also promotes longevity and overall health.

  • By becoming the highest version of yourself, you become better equipped to contribute positively to the world around you. Whether it's through your career, volunteer work, creative endeavors, or everyday interactions, you leave a significant impact on your communities and society at large.

  • Finally, the journey to becoming the highest version of yourself is highly rewarding in itself. It's a path of self-discovery and self-creation, where you get to explore your interests, passions, values, and dreams. It allows you to live a life that aligns with your true self, making it inherently fulfilling and meaningful.

Now, let’s get started with the 7-Step Spiritual Detox method.

Follow each step completely and sincerely.

Set aside 60-90 minutes to complete each step properly.

Do not rush and make sure you remain undisturbed during this time.

Step 1: Set Intentions and Create Sacred Space

Setting intentions and creating a sacred space are essential foundations for a successful spiritual detox journey.

By clarifying your intentions, you establish a clear direction and purpose for your practice.

Creating a sacred space, whether physical or mental, allows you to cultivate an environment conducive to spiritual growth and self-reflection.

Key points:
  • Clarify your intentions: Reflect on what you hope to achieve through your spiritual detox. Define your goals, whether it's cultivating inner peace, finding clarity of purpose, or releasing emotional baggage.

  • Create a physical or mental space: Dedicate a specific area in your home or designate a mental space where you can engage in your spiritual practices. This space should be free from distractions and evoke a sense of peace and tranquility.

  • Incorporate rituals or symbols: Enhance the sacredness of your space by incorporating rituals or symbols that hold personal significance. This can include lighting candles, using crystals, displaying inspiring quotes, or practicing specific ceremonial routines.

Step 2: Release Emotional Baggage

Releasing emotional baggage is a vital step in the spiritual detox process as it allows you to let go of past traumas, negative emotions, and limiting beliefs.

This step promotes emotional healing and creates space for positive transformation.

Key points:
  • Engage in emotional release practices: Think of and identify what emotional issues you are struggling with the most, currently. Then, take a notebook or journal and write freely about everything you have been keeping within relating to that event, situation, or person. Do not judge yourself for any of your thoughts.

  • Practice forgiveness: Now let go of whatever you have been withholding through consciously forgiving yourself and others, allowing for emotional freedom and healing.

  • Let go of attachments: Write a promise note to yourself identifying and releasing attachments to that past experience, expectations, and outcomes. Embrace the present moment and detach from negative emotions that no longer serve you.

Step 3: Cultivate Mindfulness through Meditation

Cultivating mindfulness through meditation forms the core of the spiritual detox journey.

These practices help quiet the mind, increase self-awareness, and deepen your connection with the present moment.

Key points:
  • Develop a regular meditation practice: Set aside dedicated time each day (starting right now) to engage in meditation. Begin with the simplest method such as breathwork, mantra repetition, or guided visualization according to what resonates with you. (I have written about my method here if you wish to explore it.)

  • Practice mindfulness in daily activities: Extend mindfulness beyond meditation by incorporating it into your daily routines. Consciously remind yourself to engage fully in each moment, bringing awareness and presence to even mundane tasks throughout the day, multiple times a day.

Step 4: Connect with Nature and Energy

Connecting with nature and energy is a detox in itself.

It helps restore balance, rejuvenate the spirit, and foster a deeper connection with the natural world.

Key points:
  • Spend time in nature: Engage in activities that allow you to immerse yourself in nature, such as hiking, gardening, or simply sitting in a park without your phone. Connect with the beauty and serenity of the natural environment.

  • Grounding exercises: Practice grounding exercises to connect with the Earth's energy like walking barefoot on grass, hugging trees, or visualizing roots extending from your body into the Earth.

This will instantly make you feel better, think clearer, and become lighter.

Step 5: Nurture Your Body and Mind

Nurturing your body and mind is essential for your overall well-being and supporting your spiritual growth.

By prioritizing self-care, healthy habits, and joyful activities, you create a solid foundation for your journey.

Key points:
  • Prioritize self-care activities: Pull out your journal and write a plan to engage in self-care and nourishment practices from today onwards. Schedule activities such as taking relaxing baths, going for a weekly sauna session, or just a hobby class. Whatever makes you feel alive, schedule it in your calendar. Make it a recurring event!

  • Incorporate healthy eating habits: Make a meal plan right now that focuses on fueling your body with nutritious foods that support your well-being. This in itself is a huge self-love activity and signal to your brain.

Step 6: Challenge Limiting Beliefs

Challenging limiting beliefs is a crucial step in your detox.

It helps you break free from self-imposed barriers and expand your possibilities.

By identifying and replacing negative thought patterns, you pave the way for personal growth and self-empowerment.

Key points:
  • Identify limiting beliefs: Reflect on the beliefs that hold you back or create self-doubt. These can include beliefs about your worth, abilities, or possibilities in life.

  • Question those beliefs: Counteract limiting beliefs by consciously questioning them and identifying if they actually hold true.

  • Replace those beliefs: If they were false, let them go and never think about them again. If some of them did hold true, write down how exactly you will change those and overcome your weaknesses, starting today.

When you acknowledge your limitations, they lose all power over you.

Now you can do whatever you like with them. And that makes it so easy to get rid of them.

Step 7: Embrace Gratitude and Service

Embracing gratitude and service completes the spiritual detox journey by cultivating a sense of interconnectedness and contributing to the well-being of others.

It enhances your overall fulfillment and deepens your spiritual connection.

Why?

Because we humans are social animals.

We cannot survive alone.

We are dependent on others. So we need to serve them as best as we can.

Whoever renders service to many puts himself in the line for greatness, great wealth, great return, great satisfaction, great reputation, and great joy.

Key points:
  • Practice gratitude: Cultivate a daily gratitude practice by expressing gratitude for the blessings in your life. Use journaling, create gratitude lists, or share appreciation with others but take one big step toward showing gratitude for your life every single day.

  • Engage in acts of kindness and service: Extend your compassion and love for others by performing acts of kindness, volunteering, or offering support to those in need. Watch it create a positive ripple effect and foster a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

This comprehensive approach will speed up all aspects of your personal growth, emotional healing, and spiritual connection.

As long as you stay consistent with it and truly put your heart into the practice.

It’s impossible to not yield results from this and come out completely transformed at the end of it.
