#1 Journal Prompt to make you more Self-Aware

Future Projection of Your Current Energy Levels

Energy is everything.

Fact: According to research on behavioral patterns, the energy and attitude we maintain consistently have the most impact on our long-term trajectory in life.

Your dominant energy levels and attitudes are the driving forces, and they could lead you towards vastly different futures.

A positive, proactive energy might set you on a path to achievement and fulfillment, while a negative, passive approach could lead to stagnation or regression.

To navigate this, reflect on your current energy levels.

Are you fostering an attitude of growth, resilience, and positivity? Or are you allowing lethargy, negativity, and passivity to dictate your course?

Take out a journal and a pen and ask yourself this question:

If you continue operating on the same energy level you have been in for the past 2 weeks, where would you end up in the next 5 years?

↳ Is that where you WANT to end up?

Use this question as a compass to steer your life toward the future you desire and deserve.

#1 Concept/framework to become the highest version of yourself

Very recently, I re-read a very popular book by Robert Greene, called “The 48 Laws of Power”.

In this book, I found a super intriguing concept:

Strategy of the Crown

It is a simple concept based on the undeniable phenomenon of cause and effect.

This concept addresses the psychological impact of how we perceive ourselves and, subsequently, how others perceive us.

The essence of this strategy lies in the belief that adopting a regal posture, both mentally and physically, can elevate your perceived status and influence.

Greene implies that by embodying the qualities of a king/queen — dignity, self-respect, and a certain nobility of character — you influence others to treat you accordingly.

Now, we do not need to go to such extremes. But we can use this concept to our advantage.

Picture this: A person walks into a room with an air of confidence, their head held high, and a demeanor that exudes self-assurance. Instantly, the room's dynamic shifts. People turn to look, conversations pause, and an unspoken respect is established. This is the power of the Strategy of the Crown in action.

In short, how you perceive yourself in your own mind is how the world will perceive you.

So, all we need to do is change how we perceive ourselves in our own mind.

And the world will begin responding to that.

By understanding and applying this framework, you create an aura of respect and authority around yourself.

It's not just about pretending to be confident; it's about internalizing a powerful mindset that others can sense and respond to.

Your internal state dictates your external state of being and in turn, how other people perceive you.

If you simply were to internalize the highest version of yourself - the most confident and bold, the most hardworking, the most charming, the most honest and patient, the most self-assured - version of yourself, if you internalize that version deeply and begin operating AS THAT VERSION of yourself, you will unavoidably change the perception of other people toward you.

Remember, adopting this strategy in your life isn't about deceit.

It's about recognizing your inherent worth and presenting yourself as your ideal self.

#1 Book of The Week

"The Art of Impossible" by Steven Kotler explores the science and strategies behind achieving peak performance and unlocking human potential (something I am obsessed about).

Now, the book is a heavy hitter and takes a lot of time to go through the concepts, but it also has a lot of practical stuff that can be directly applied to daily life.

It provides a framework for pursuing and accomplishing seemingly impossible goals.

The main theme of the book is the concept of flow, an optimal state of consciousness where you feel your best and perform at your highest levels.

Kotler breaks down the components of flow and introduces the "flow cycle:

a series of steps that lead to heightened performance

The book will give you a comprehensive roadmap for to push your limits and achieve exceptional performance (in whatever domain of life you want, but mostly your work and creativity).

What you can unlock by applying the principles from this book:

  • Learning to tap into your full potential

  • accomplish extraordinary feats in things that matter to you

  • experience a heightened sense of fulfillment and achievement

In flow, concentration becomes so laser-focused that everything else falls away.

My Key Learning and Insights:

  • Flow triggers: Identifying activities and conditions that reliably induce flow for you will allow you to access your peak performance states more consistently.

  • Skill development: Acquiring and honing skills is crucial for achieving mastery and maximizing potential. Deliberate practice and focused training will help accelerate skill acquisition.

  • Motivation and purpose: A clear sense of purpose and intrinsic motivation are essential ingredients for sustaining long-term engagement and drive toward challenging goals.

  • Stress and recovery: Balancing stress and recovery periods is vital for optimal performance. Strategic rest and rejuvenation are integral to sustained high-level achievement. More here: Active Relaxation

  • Power of mindset: Cultivating a growth mindset is mandatory because it will allow you to embrace failure as a learning opportunity rather than something to be ashamed of, and reframing challenges as opportunities for growth are key elements in pursuing the impossible.

  • Neurobiology and neurochemistry: Understanding your own underlying neurobiological processes involved in flow will allow you to strategize and optimize your performance and well-being.

  • Environmental influences: Creating an environment that fosters focus, creativity, and flow can significantly impact productivity and performance outcomes.

  • Goal setting and visualization: Setting clear and challenging goals, and utilizing visualization techniques are the shortcuts to align your actions with your desired outcomes and enhance performance.

  • Sustainable performance: Developing habits and routines that support physical and mental well-being is crucial for sustained high-level performance. Figuring out how to avoid burnout will pay off not only in your work life but also in your creative and personal life.

The greatest superpower is the ability to change oneself.
